Sonic 2022 has been through a mix and match but the worst one was audiences trying to guess the title. Recently, it was revealed in a trailer that it would be named Frontiers but many people still believe otherwise. Either this is poor management or a marketing stint. But, nonetheless, let’s talk about Sonic 2022.

Plot – Sonic 2022

Sonic Frontiers is a new platform game from Sonic Team, which is made by Sega. It is the first Sonic the Hedgehog game to incorporate open-world gameplay; the player takes on the role of Sonic and explores the Starfall Islands, made full of numerous biomes. After the release of Sonic Forces, work on the game began (2017). Frontiers will be available in late 2022 on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Sonic Frontiers is a 3D platformer and action-adventure game. It features an open environment for the first time in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. Sonic travels across the Starfall Islands, which are home to a variety of biomes such as flowery fields, woodlands, ancient ruins, and deserts. The open-world design has been under comparison to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild by several writers (2017).

Recent Updates

“Originally, it was supposed to be published this year, on the 30th anniversary of Sonic,” SEGA said in a Q&A. “However, we have postponed the release for a year in order to improve the quality.” We have been steadily conducting analysis to improve the quality of the title before release, such as introducing game testing based on external evaluations, not only for this title, but also during the development phase, and I have a feeling that it will become a good game and have high expectations for it.”

According to a leak, the game will have ‘Ubisoft Towers,’ which would let players to unlock further sections by defeating them. This suggests that the game’s scope will be similar to that of Assassin’s Creed. There were also hints that the game could be a sequel to the Sonic Adventure titles that debuted on the Sega Dreamcast system.
