Who is Kung Lao?

He is a monk and a member of the White Lotus. Also, he is the descendant of a former Mortal Kombat champion named the Great Kung Lao. Before MK 11, he does not have any interest in Mortal Kombat fighting. But, after his debut in this game, he aims to be the champion. This is because of the presence of Liu Kang, as Kung Lao tries to rub shoulders with him.

He is also one of the Earthrealm Warriors and has a special weapon called Razor-Rimmed Hat. This is synonymous to him as he mostly appears with it. Though he is a seasoned warrior, he trained under Bo’ Rai Cho, who is also the teacher of Lui Kang.

Special Abilities and Powers

Though he is physically strong, his main power is the deadly hat which abides by his wish as he uses it as a boomerang. It is not just a normal sharpened hat as it also has magic abilities.

Other than his various hat moves, he also can go underground and can surprise his opponent by attacking from behind. This move is called Teleport or Wind Teleport. These are Kung Lao’s signature moves. Baring these, he also has other attacking moves such as Tornado, Grinder, Torpedo, etc.
